In line with their ongoing efforts to appeal more to indie developers, Sony has announced its waiving the publishing fee for all PlayStation Mobile games.
Starting from today any developer wanting to release its game under the PlayStation Mobile umbrella won?t attract the once-off fee ? which equates to roughly $99AUD when converted from the UK fee of ?65.
For small indie developers who money is of concern, saving much-needed money on publishing fees is all but a good thing, meaning they can funnel it into marketing or extra development if need be.
If you?re an indie developer wanting to see your game released on PlayStation Mobile head on over to the developer portal for more information.
The announcement comes off the back of Sony yesterday announced an ?indie space? category for the PlayStation Store, where users can access and download the latest indie games.
Sony launched PlayStation Mobile last year, which makes available ?bite-szed? mobile-like games to PlayStation Vita owners by accessing the online store.
Additionally, those who own a certified smart-device can download games via the PlayStation Mobile Store.
For more information about the types of games available on the service, head on over to the PlayStation Mobile website.
Do you think this new initiative will help the largely unseen PlayStation Mobile platform gain more attention, or are Sony merely opening the floodgate for poor quality titles hitting the service?
