Changes to the criminal code, eliminating conditional sentences and house arrest for violent and serious offenders, are being supported completely by a local M.P.

The changes will apply to criminals convicted of offenses with a penalty of 14 years or more, or any violent or drug related crimes with a 10 year penalty or more.

Prince Edward-Hastings?Conservative Daryl Kramp says the changes send a strong message to would be criminals.

The Criminal Code amendments are part of the Government?s ?Safe Streets and Communities Act?, which received royal assent in March of this year.
