Last.fm Internet radio warns of password leak

Joining sites LinkedIn and eHarmony in the "We've-had-a-password-leak" contingent Thursday, Last.fm, an Internet radio site, says it is investigating a similar problem and is?warning its users to change their passwords right away.

"We are currently investigating the leak of some Last.fm user passwords," the company said on its site. "This follows recent password leaks on other sites, as well as information posted online. As a precautionary measure, we?re asking all our users to change their passwords immediately."

Last.fm is directing users to log into the site, change their passwords on the settings page, and "if you can't remember your password, you can?reset it without logging in."

The site is also referring members to this Google guide for creating a strong?password.

If you get any email offering a link to update your settings, do not use it. "We will never email you a direct link to update your settings or ask for your password," Last.fm says.

The site said it will be posting updates in its forms and via its Twitter account "as we get to the bottom of this."
