Lester KeizerWhen I hear the words disaster recovery or business continuity, one name comes to mind.? That is Lester Keizer from BCT in Las Vegas.? Lester Keizer taught me everything I needed to know about the backup and disaster recovery business including best practices for implementing business continuity solutions for small and midsize companies, publicly traded corporations, healthcare and medical and many other highly specialized markets where data protection is essential to the overall success of a business. ?Lester?s approach combines the best in technology in a language and approach that business executives, professionals and owners understand.

It is an honour and our entire team at Ulistic is?ecstatic to?have Lester join Ulistic for our upcoming MSP workshops throughout the year as a featured trainer on business continuity and disaster recovery.

Like I said Lester is the expert in this field (the best in the business) and for those who attend our workshops, not only will you go back to your business with a firm understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery, you will also know how to sell and marketing business continuity and disaster recovery properly.

There are many experts across the MSP community, many are great and many will tell you that you need to promote, market, sell and deploy backup and disaster recovery solutions, but many struggle to crack the shell of the egg.? Disaster Recovery and business continuity is a tough sell, even in the New York City area where Hurricane Sandy caused wide scale power outages and disruption to business very many weeks and some still are recovering three months or so later. ?Many MSPs struggle to sell business continuity effectively. ?Now you don?t have to worry about that. ?You just need to come to our Ulistic workshops and learn from the best in the industry.

Are you able to join us for our MSP workshops across Canada and the United States?

Internet Marketing Search Engine Optimization SEM SEO service ...

Every so often, the perfect business opportunity comes to mind. The Internet gives you that opportunity. You can make a profit with the right marketing techniques, which can build your business and give it sustainability. Follow these tips when you need help.

A great way to advertise on the Internet and get your business noticed is with video marketing. Putting videos on your page or blog will grab the attention of customers. An interesting title and a unique picture will grab the attention of potential clients and possibly produce sales.

It?s ok to go to other online businesses or retailers, you can propose deals of products as well as other services for a discounted price. The larger the market you appeal to, the more money you have the potential to make. Online travel agencies frequently do this, offering packages that cover hotel reservations, plane tickets and car rentals in bundled packages. This type of bundled package is great for companies that have products that can easily be linked with other complementary items that enhance their main product line.

Be careful not to go to far in advertising spending. There is no point in spending money on advertising techniques that will not work. If you are going to invest money, you want to be sure you are getting what you pay for and this is why advertising with banner ads is a great investment.

Highlight the specialness of the product by including ?limited? in ads. When people get tired of what?s on offer at their local shops, they choose to shop online. They want something unique and different. When you advertise a product as a limited edition it creates excitement. Customers know they need to act fast to grab the product before it is gone.

You should always include coupons and/or free samples in your shipping boxes that relate to the product that you are sending to the customer. Most people look at coupons in a positive sense and it gives them a reason to purchase more of your products.

An important tip regarding Website marketing is to give rewards to those that either frequent your site often or purchase from you often. You want to keep your current customers and being generous will speak volumes. People are generally more than happy to share their great experiences with others, and this can really pay off for you.

Most people will respect someone with an important title. Do not be shy about clarifying that you are the person in charge of your business. A label such as President or CEO is a great way to let people know that you are the one in charge.

One interesting way of doing web marketing for your site is taking advantage when it comes to image searches. When a browser online searches some type of keyword, you will have a better chance of being found if you actually tag your images with the proper keywords. Even though it?s an image, it will still be indexed along with your site. People looking for a certain photo might land on your site and get interested in what you are selling. Once they have been to your site and are familiar with your brand, they are more apt to visit again in the future.

A good tip for your site is to have a place where customers can interact with one another. This will give your website a friendlier feel as opposed to a place where they must send an email and wait for a reply. A sense of community can be a powerful motivator to turn a one-time visitor into a habitual one; fostering a community for your customers can be a powerful marketing tool.

Make a webpage specifically built for public relations. You could add content with information that could be published in online magazines and newspapers. If you do this, it will help your company to be visible to the public.

People focus on website URLs. Make sure your website is easy to remember so that a customer will be able to quickly and easily access it whenever they desire. When you are setting up your company, you should always try to incorporate your brand name or company name. Although Google is simple to use, it is another step that a customer has to take if they cannot remember your web address. So make it something simple that will automatically stick in their minds.

One helpful form to include in your website is a feedback form. This form will give you a lot of information that you can use to make your website even better. There are many different reasons they might not have made a purchase, including not liking your product, level of security or guarantee.

If your customers are aware of incentives or promotions that you offer, they will be more apt to order right away. This could include free shipping, faster shipping or free gift wrapping. You can give free shipping to the first 50 people who make a purchase of a particular item. This induces people to make a purchase quickly because of a perceived discount.

A really good Internet marketing tip is to make your website stand out. The web is inundated with business, so you need to become innovative in order to set yourself apart from the pack. A good method for doing that is showing off a service you offer that others do not.

Earning and maintaining your clients? trust is crucial. Only use facts when creating marketing plans and selling products to customers. Solicit testimonials from past customers, and, if possible, ask for verifiable data from experts.

Boosting the amount of subscribers you have will help you make more money. Try using a split test by sending one beta model to one group and another to a different group. Make your decision based on which version resulted in attracting the most subscribers.

Your affiliate marketing venture won?t work on luck alone; you need to have persistence and dedication too. You would be hard pressed to find a business that will attribute their success to the forces of fate. Do you believe that Coca Cola just happened to run into some good luck with their soda drink idea? Of course not. They had a strong marketing strategy, and worked hard to implement it.

Provide easily understood and content-driven content on your site. There?s no better way to keep readers coming back than by providing with quality content to want to come back to. Avoid providing useless data and repetitive, bland descriptions. This is a surefire way to bore your customers.

Incorporating your ads for products and services in powerful locations on the Internet is a smart move for your Online marketing plan. You can do this through companies, such as AdSense. This is a successful way to get your business out there cheaply, and with hardly any work.

Provide some kind of proof that the claims of the product quality are true. Just saying that something works is not nearly as effective as including a video backing up your claims. This demonstrates that using your product produces results.

As you know, longevity is a goal that most businesses should strive for. No matter how big or small your company is, you know you are successful if you keep moving forward. All businesses begin from somewhere, and by using the tips in this article, you can start a strong business today.

Read up on psychology to understand marketing online. The way people see your site can have a big impact on whether they decide to buy from you. If you fully understand the implications of these connections, you can apply that knowledge to drive profits.

Galaxy
The Galaxy is made up of three sections; Outer Rim, Mid Rim, and Core Planets. The Core planets tend to be wealthier and more influential in the shaping of Galactic Society. The Planet of Kira acts as the Galactic Hub for politics and trade, with the Galactic Council using it as its place to meet.

Galactic Council
The Council is a collection of representatives from all planets within the Galaxy who agree to enter into the union. They convene once a month, more if a situation arises, and often oversee disputes among planets. The Council doesn't have a designated leader, but a human woman named Leah Frise often asks as a moderator. The three "Superpowers" among the governments are The Republic of Goroi, The Eana Monarchy, and The Renderon Oligarchy.

The Kaloq
Home Planet: Rios
Average Height: For males, between 6'3" and 6'10"
Average Life Span: 200 years
Estimated Population: Less than a thousand.

Description
The Kaloq are known for their hard, scaled skin that is as tough as bone. Most Kaloq males have gray or red colored skin and most females have blue or white, but both have either black or yellow eye color. Kaloq'a have the ability to see in the dark, an evolutionary trait due to the harshness of their home world. They show a natural grasp of combat, but are not the most scientifically gifted race, often relying on others for technology and advancement. They posses incredible strength and speed, often finding work as mercenaries or hired guards within the seedy underworld of Galactic Crime. Due to their dwindling population, it is estimated they will not likely be a factor in Galactic Society within the next thousand or so years.

History
It is a long held belief within the Galactic Community, that the Kaloq evolved and prospered within one environment... war. When first contact from the Galactic Council was made over six hundred years ago, The Kaloq, despite their primitive weapons, slaughtered the first contact team. They were believed to be too primitive for introduction into the Galactic Community, but several Council Members, seeing the potential in such a physical race, convinced the others to continue trying to "uplift" the Kaloq into Society. It would be a little over fifty years before the Kaloq began creating their own technology, mostly based off of what other races had done previously. Once the Kaloq saw the true scope of the world in which they live, they were eager to gain the favor and experience of the rest of the Galaxy. The Council believed the Kaloq to be just naturally curious, a mistake they would later come to regret.

Fifty years prior to present day, the Kaloq Wars took place. Starting on the Outer Rim, The Kaloq began conquering planets with relative ease as they were, for the most part, weakly protected planets. The Council received word of the Kaloq's movements and launched a full scale war against the Kaloq. Alenko Isis was a young, decorated soldier and was recognized by his people as The Hero Of Goliath. Goliath was a heavily populated planet close to the Mid Rim that the Kaloq won in the early stages of the war. With a handful of men, Alenko battled the Galactic Military on the ground while a great space battle was being waged above. The group held out just long enough for the Anti-Aircraft guns to return online, effectively winning the battle for the Kaloq. However, the most powerful planets at that time, Goroi, Eana, and Renderon provided the most troops and technology to the Galactic Military. These resources proved to be key in the defeat of the Kaloq. In one of the most controversial orders of the time period, the Admiral in charge on the Galactic Fleet ordered a full bombardment on Rios, effectively wiping out the balk of both the military and civilian population of the planet. Often seen as a dark day for the Galaxy, the Council deemed it a necessary evil in order to stop the threat before it reached the Mid Rim.

Despite how much time has past, many still look on the Kaloq with fear and suspicion. However, their presence in the criminal underworld has skyrocketed with more and more lacking proper work. What little remains of their race is fighting for profit, and little else.

Chatting Up Math

It's not just language that benefits from the oral component. Discourse in math is essential too. To make a point, how many times have you asked somebody how they got their answer (right or wrong) and heard, I just knew it. Talking through math problems is very helpful, explaining, reasoning, and problem solving out loud are all basic tools for math achievement. Education Week has a great article about Mathematical Discourse and whether you're a student, teacher or home-schooler, this isn't an article to be missed.

However, if you are a student working alone and don't have the opportunity for discourse, you might just want to keep a math journal with the strategies found here.

BBQ Catering Services Allow You to Enjoy Your Outdoor Events

Are you currently in the midst of planning an outdoor event? Maybe, you are just at the very beginning stages. Whatever the case may be, your best bet may be to hire a BBQ catering service to provide the food for your cookout. Most times, the event hosts end up cooking the food. If you decide to go that route, it could take away from your ability to actually enjoy the event. Of course, everyone else in attendance may have a good time, but you will most likely end up missing out on the fun.

Just think about it. Imagine that it?s the day of your cookout. Even though most of the event will take place outside, you?ll probably still make an extra effort to clean your home. You never know who will have to go inside to use the restroom. Who knows? Some people may even ask for a quick tour of your house.

After doing this, your attention would then be switched to the backyard area. There may be several tables, tents and other things to set up before everyone arrives. You may even have to tidy up your yard a bit. Now, you may have help to complete all of these tasks, but this still doesn?t mean that you won?t get a little tired or even exhausted. Just imagine if you had to do all of the aforementioned things on top of actually preparing the food for everyone.

It may be okay if you are able to get everything prepared and cooked before your guests arrive. However, this isn?t always the case. Many times, people cook food on the grill throughout the duration of the cookout. In these cases, they aren?t really able to socialize with guests as much as they?d like. They may only be able to have quick conversations here and there with anyone who decides to stop by the grill.

In order to alleviate this particular situation, you could have all of the food prepared beforehand. However, you?d probably be so tired that you wouldn?t have much energy left to enjoy yourself as much as you?d like. You would have more freedom to entertain your visitors, but you really wouldn?t be able to give your all. Some people might be able to sense this and think that you don?t want to be bothered. This could prevent them from coming to anymore of your events. This is why BBQ catering is so beneficial.

Hiring a BBQ catering service would give you the opportunity and ability to truly enjoy your cookout event. You won?t have to worry about being overly exhausted and you?d have the freedom to entertain your guests throughout the duration of the event.

If you are planning an outdoor event that may need BBQ catering new jersey has great resources available. For more information about these kinds of services take a look at http://www.protegecatering.com.

Corning to show off even tougher Gorilla Glass 3 at CES 2013

Corning to show off even tougher Gorilla Glass 3 at CES 2013

This time last year we were in Las Vegas, checking out CES 2012 when Corning decided to show off Gorilla Glass 2 in their booth. The demo of the 20% stronger yet 20% thinner chemically-hardened glass was impressive, but they've got something even better in store for next week at CES 2013: Gorilla Glass 3. According to?Engadget, version three of Gorilla Glass is touted to be three-times more scratch resistant over its predecessor, while also offering up forty percent fewer visible scratches. In other words, it's straight-up tougher to scratch.

All of this is supposedly owed to the implementation of a propriety treatment Corning calls 'Native Damage Resistance' that is said to reduce the propagation of flaws and scratching. This doesn't mean your future Gorilla Glass-fronted iPhone will be impervious to a sudden and rapid meeting with a hard surface near you, but it'll certainly stand up better to in-pocket and in-purse abuse. Or at least the screen will.

Steven Sinofsky starts a product development blog, continues telling epic-length tales

Steven Sinofsky starts a blog about shipping, continues telling epiclength tales

Steven Sinofsky has built a reputation for exceptionally thorough posts on technology, and he's not about to stop just because of small roadblocks like his departure from Microsoft. The former executive plans to complement an upcoming teaching stint at Harvard Business School by writing Learning by Shipping, a blog discussing the finer points of product development in the technology world. Despite what some would presume, the blog won't lean heavily on retold experiences from the Microsoft days, Sinofsky says. Instead, it's more likely to react to industry goings-on and (hopefully) foster conversation. We're looking forward to the first full-fledged post, although we'd suggest brewing some coffee before tackling whatever comes next: when even the introduction is a substantial body of work, there's bound to be a few hefty tomes of knowledge coming our way.

CDC: 1 in 24 admit nodding off while driving

NEW YORK (AP) ? This could give you nightmares: 1 in 24 U.S. adults say they recently fell asleep while driving.

And health officials behind the study think the number is probably higher. That's because some people don't realize it when they nod off for a second or two behind the wheel.

"If I'm on the road, I'd be a little worried about the other drivers," said the study's lead author, Anne Wheaton of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In the CDC study released Thursday, about 4 percent of U.S. adults said they nodded off or fell asleep at least once while driving in the previous month. Some earlier studies reached a similar conclusion, but the CDC telephone survey of 147,000 adults was far larger. It was conducted in 19 states and the District of Columbia in 2009 and 2010.

CDC researchers found drowsy driving was more common in men, people ages 25 to 34, those who averaged less than six hours of sleep each night, and ? for some unexplained reason ? Texans.

Wheaton said it's possible the Texas survey sample included larger numbers of sleep-deprived young adults or apnea-suffering overweight people.

Most of the CDC findings are not surprising to those who study this problem.

"A lot of people are getting insufficient sleep," said Dr. Gregory Belenky, director of Washington State University's Sleep and Performance Research Center in Spokane.

The government estimates that about 3 percent of fatal traffic crashes involve drowsy drivers, but other estimates have put that number as high as 33 percent.

Warning signs of drowsy driving: Feeling very tired, not remembering the last mile or two, or drifting onto rumble strips on the side of the road. That signals a driver should get off the road and rest, Wheaton said.

Even a brief moment nodding off can be extremely dangerous, she noted. At 60 mph, a single second translates to speeding along for 88 feet ? the length of two school buses.

To prevent drowsy driving, health officials recommend getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night, treating any sleep disorders and not drinking alcohol before getting behind the wheel.

(AP) ? Doctors treating Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for a blood clot in her head said blood thinners are being used to dissolve the clot and they are confident she will make a full recovery.

Clinton didn't suffer a stroke or neurological damage from the clot that formed after she suffered a concussion during a fainting spell at her home in early December, doctors said in a statement Monday.

Clinton, 65, was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday when the clot turned up on a follow-up exam on the concussion, Clinton spokesman Phillipe Reines said.

The clot is located in the vein in the space between the brain and the skull behind the right ear. She will be released once the medication dose for the blood thinners has been established, the doctors said.

In their statement, Dr. Lisa Bardack of the Mount Kisco Medical Group and Dr. Gigi El-Bayoumi of George Washington University said Clinton was making excellent progress and was in good spirits.

Clinton's complication "certainly isn't the most common thing to happen after a concussion" and is one of the few types of blood clots in the skull or head that are treated with blood thinners, said Dr. Larry Goldstein, a neurologist who is director of Duke University's stroke center. He is not involved in Clinton's care.

The area where Clinton's clot developed is "a drainage channel, the equivalent of a big vein inside the skull. It's how the blood gets back to the heart," Goldstein said.

Blood thinners usually are enough to treat the clot and it should have no long-term consequences if her doctors are saying she has suffered no neurological damage from it, Goldstein said.

Clinton returned to the U.S. from a trip to Europe, then fell ill with a stomach virus in early December that left her severely dehydrated and forced her to cancel a trip to North Africa and the Middle East. Until then, she had canceled only two scheduled overseas trips, one to Europe after breaking her elbow in June 2009 and one to Asia after the February 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

Her condition worsened when she fainted, fell and suffered a concussion while at home alone in mid-December as she recovered from the virus. It was announced Dec. 13.

This isn't the first time Clinton has suffered a blood clot. In 1998, midway through her husband's second term as president, Clinton was in New York fundraising for the midterm elections when a swollen right foot led her doctor to diagnose a clot in her knee requiring immediate treatment.

Clinton had planned to step down as secretary of state at the beginning of President Barack Obama's second term. Whether she will return to work before she resigns remained a question.

Democrats are privately if not publicly speculating: How might her illness affect a decision about running for president in 2016?

After decades in politics, Clinton says she plans to spend the next year resting. She has long insisted she had no intention of mounting a second campaign for the White House four years from now. But the door is not entirely closed, and she would almost certainly emerge as the Democrat to beat if she decided to give in to calls by Democratic fans and run again.

Her age ? and thereby health ? would probably be a factor under consideration, given that Clinton would be 69 when sworn in, if she were elected in 2016. That might become even more of an issue in the early jockeying for 2016 if what started as a bad stomach bug becomes a prolonged, public bout with more serious infirmity.

Not that Democrats are willing to talk openly about the political implications of a long illness, choosing to keep any discussions about her condition behind closed doors. Publicly, Democrats reject the notion that a blood clot could hinder her political prospects.

"Some of those concerns could be borderline sexist," said Basil Smikle, a Democratic strategist who worked for Clinton when she was a senator. "Dick Cheney had significant heart problems when he was vice president, and people joked about it. He took the time he needed to get better, and it wasn't a problem."

It isn't uncommon for presidential candidates' health ? and age ? to be an issue. Both in 2000 and 2008, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., had to rebut concerns he was too old to be commander in chief or that his skin cancer could resurface.

Two decades after Clinton became the first lady, signs of her popularity ? and her political strength ? are ubiquitous.

Obama had barely declared victory in November when Democrats started zealously plugging Clinton as their strongest White House contender four years from now, should she choose to take that leap.

"Wouldn't that be exciting?" House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi declared in December. "I hope she goes. Why wouldn't she?"

Even Republicans concede that were she to run, Clinton would be a force to be reckoned with.

"Trying to win that will be truly the Super Bowl," Newt Gingrich, the former House Speaker and 2012 GOP presidential candidate, said in December. "The Republican Party today is incapable of competing at that level."

Americans admire Clinton more than any other woman in the world, according to a Gallup poll released Monday ? the 17th time in 20 years that Clinton has claimed that title. And a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 57 percent of Americans would support Clinton as a candidate for president in 2016, with just 37 percent opposed. Websites have already cropped up hawking "Clinton 2016" mugs and tote bags.

Beyond talk of future politics, Clinton's three-week absence from the State Department has raised eyebrows among some conservative commentators who questioned the seriousness of her ailment after she canceled planned Dec. 20 testimony before Congress on the deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Clinton had been due to discuss with lawmakers a scathing report she had commissioned on the attack. It found serious failures of leadership and management in two State Department bureaus were to blame for insufficient security at the facility. Clinton took responsibility for the incident before the report was released, but she was not blamed. Four officials cited in the report have either resigned or been reassigned.

Samsung teases Series 7 Chronos refresh with AMD Radeon 8870M graphics (video)

Samsung added a 17-inch model to its Series 7 Chronos laptop range last year, and updated the whole family with Ivy Bridge processors, to boot. Barely a breath into 2013, the company is at it again, teasing better hardware in the "new" Series 7. There isn't much information in between the scenes of advanced robotic predators (video embed below), but those snippets mention RAMaccelerator (which promises 50 percent faster app loading), a full HD display, JBL speakers and most importantly, a beefy new AMD Radeon HD 8870M GPU. Since the 17-inch model already has a 1,920 x 1,080 panel and JBL speakers, these could be improvements coming to the 15-inch model, or maybe it's a hint that RAMaccelerator and upgraded graphics are destined for the larger sibling -- we just don't know. As we're merely days away from CES, it's likely we'll get a clearer picture of what's what at the show, but we've also contacted Sammy for clarification in case beans are willing to be spilled beforehand.

Live in a mid-century classic in suburban Seattle

17 hrs.

18918 Ross Rd, Bothell WA
For sale: $495,000

A green two-parcel property in the Seattle suburban town of?Bothell would be a perfect place to stick in a few new homes. Just shy of an acre, the lot is located minutes from downtown Bothell, an area set to begin a major revitalization.

But what's better than building four new houses on the property is maintaining the current home located there, says Seattle real estate agent ?Patty Allen of Windermere.

Immersed among the greenery is an original mid-century home constructed in 1955 that Allen describes as an "architectural treasure."

The home was designed for a local couple?by Myer Wolfe, a former dean of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Washington.

"The couple had the home built on the property back then and lived there all their lives," Allen said. "The house is absolutely original and still timeless. It's small, but it was just for the two of them."

The home is filled with details that home buyers still clamor for: cork floors, copper surrounds in the bathroom and stainless steel counters. Built-ins, including a dining room table that folds into the wall, as well as an open floor plan that expands the feeling of the home's 980 square feet are additional features.

"We're hoping someone will buy it and love it just the way it is," explained Allen. "We've had builders who have wanted to flatten it and build four houses on it, but we want to avoid that. We want someone who will love it because it's timeless, a treasure."

The 1-bedroom, 1-bath home also has a den, full deck and garden.

According to Zillow's mortgage calculator, a monthly payment would be $1,721, assuming a 20 percent down payment on a 30-year mortgage.
